Las Vegas Venom News Release
Las Vegas, NV. Diversity is not just a word in the office of the ABA Las Vegas Venom. Co-owner and General Manager, Dan Savage, has just been given the title of "Diversity Champion" by the MGM MIRAGE Company based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Savage was selected from a pool of 70,000+ to attend a three-day diversity championship training where 20 attendees examine their background and how they think about and relate to people who are different from them. Also, they examine what defines a high performing team, what trust means between co-workers, the importance of integrity in leadership, and creating diversity specific business goals.
"I am honored to have been selected for this training and will apply the principles learned directly to the Las Vegas Venom business plan." Savage continued, "Joe Newman and the ABA have always encouraged the entire league that diversity principles should be practiced by every ABA team - and from what I can see - diversity is the heart and soul of our league."
The MGM MIRAGE has been named to the top 50 companies for diversity by DiversityInc Magazine. Mr. Savage serves as the Recreation Services Manager for the New York New York Hotel and Casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
