Amarillo, TX 4/23/10- The Amarillo Venom will take on the Colorado Ice for the second straight week this Saturday, April 24th at 7pm CST in the Amarillo Civic Center as the only undefeated IFL squad.
Amarillo (5-0) completed their first second-half comeback of the season last Sunday in Loveland, Colorado. After the Venom trailed 29-21 at halftime, Amarillo outscored the Ice 28-8. Quarterback Julian Reese continued to impress, going 20 of 27 for 182 yards and 5 touchdowns along with leading the team in rushing last week with 36 yards (averaging over 5 yards a rush this season, but no rushing touchdowns). The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder had seven touchdown catches and 201 all-purpose yards this season for Billings before the trade. Casimier led the IFL in receiving last year with El Paso, grabbing 99 passes for 1,384 yards and 25 touchdowns. Colorado has played a different quarterback in each of their six games this season. David Knighton took the rains from Sherard Ellis in the third quarter last week, going 10 of 19 for 30 yards and 1 touchdown (1 interception). The Ice has dropped their previous three road tilts by an average of 22 points.
