Amarillo Bulls News Release
Amarillo, TX - Jordan Venegoni's third period hat-trick rallied the Amarillo Bulls in a come-from-behind, 3-1 victory over the Odessa Jackalope on Saturday night.
Unlike the previous night's contest, the two teams began the game with some big hits and a more reserved offensive atmosphere with the two teams combining for 15 shots and no goals for the first 20 minutes of action.
The second period created a very similar feel for both teams as the physicality continued to escalate, while the shot totals remained relatively low for Amarillo's standards.
Into the final frame, the Bulls fell behind on an early Odessa powerplay goal by Matt Hutton that was quickly answered by Jordan Venegoni's snipe off a Devan Tongue faceoff win. Venegoni wasn't done scoring, as he would give Amarillo the 2-1 lead, midway through the period, on the powerplay. With time winding down and the Odessa net vacated, Venegoni stole the puck and fired it down the length of the ice for his third of the night, completing his natural hat-trick and securing a 3-1 victory.
Venegoni is now tied for the team lead in goals with 11, while Max Gutjahr earned his eighth win of the season. The Bulls improve to 15-4-1-2 with the win
The Bulls take to the road on Friday, November 29 to take on the Lone Star Brahmas. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 7:30PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
