Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Saturday that TSN Radio Vancouver will continue to be home to the 'Caps for the next three seasons.
All 34 matches will be carried on either TSN 1040 or TSN 1410, starting with Sunday's MLS regular season opener at home to Philadelphia Union at BC Place. Match days will again include one-hour pre-game and one-hour post-game shows. All matches will also be available online at TSN.ca/Vancouver and on the iHeartRadio app.
Peter Schaad returns to provide play-by-play for Whitecaps FC matches on TSN Radio Vancouver - when not calling matches on the TSN TV broadcast. Schaad enters his seventh MLS season on the mic, and has been providing Whitecaps FC commentary since 2002. Spelling Schaad on play-by-play this season will again be long-time local sports radio talent Joey Kenward, who has covered the team on TSN Radio since the inaugural 2011 season.
Colour commentary this season will be delivered by former Canadian men's national team and Vancouver 86ers goalkeeper Paul Dolan, who returns to his original post from 2011. Dolan played 10 seasons with Vancouver and is the club's all-time leader in goalkeeping appearances (223) and victories (126). Internationally, Dolan earned 53 caps and has represented Canada in 15 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches and four World Cup qualifying campaigns. In 1986, he was the youngest goalkeeper to play in a World Cup match when Canada played France in Mexico. Dolan has continued his career as Canada's men's national team goalkeeper coach and was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2004.
