- The LA Galaxy opened the 2017 MLS Regular Season with a 2-1 loss to FC Dallas at StubHub Center on Saturday, March 4.
- Giovani dos Santos successfully converted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute for his first goal of the 2017 MLS season. In 2016, Dos Santos recorded 14 goals and 12 assists, earning MLS All-Star and MLS Best XI honors as a result.
- LA Galaxy were missing Gyasi Zardes, Ashley Cole and Robbie Rogers due to injury.
- Head Coach Curt Onalfo trotted out a lineup that featured eight players returning from the 2016 roster: Brian Rowe; Rafael Garcia, Daniel Steres, Jelle Van Damme ©, Dave Romney; Sebastian Lletget, Giovani dos Santos and Jack McBean.
- Three Homegrown Players featured in the match for the Galaxy: Jack McBean, Jose Villarreal and Ariel Lassiter.
- Romain Alessandrini and Jo=E3o Pedro made their MLS debuts for the Galaxy on Saturday afternoon. Alessandrini played 86 minutes in the match while Pedro put in a full 90.
- Jermaine Jones made his debut for LA Galaxy after stints in MLS for New England Revolution (2014, 2015) and Colorado Rapids (2016). Jones played 90 minutes in the match.
- All-time, LA Galaxy are now 14-7-1 in home openers.
- All-time, LA Galaxy are now 24-6-5 against FC Dallas at home. Overall, they are 33-24-12 against Dallas.
- LA Galaxy Head Coach Curt Onalfo returned to the sidelines for his first match as an MLS manager since 2010.
- In three seasons as Head Coach of LA Galaxy II in USL, Onalfo led the Galaxy to three-consecutive postseason berths (2014, 2015, 2016) while winning the USL Western Conference in 2015.
- During his 86 games over three seasons with LA Galaxy II, Los Dos scored 145 goals and earned +34 goal differential.
- LA Galaxy drew 0-0 with FC Dallas in the Galaxy's 2016 Regular Season finale at StubHub Center on Oct. 23. The draw earned FC Dallas the 2016 MLS Supporters' Shield.
- LA Galaxy will return to StubHub Center next weekend to take on Western Conference rival Portland Timbers (4 p.m. PT, Fox Sports 1).
