LOS ANGELES - After Sunday's road match, the LA Galaxy return home for two pivotal Western Conference matchups at Dignity Health Sports Park, closing out a demanding stretch of three matches in seven days. The Galaxy will first host the Portland Timbers on Wednesday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m. PT (Apple TV) before welcoming Southern California foes San Diego FC on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. PT (Apple TV). With both Portland and San Diego currently chasing the Galaxy in the Western Conference standings, the week presents a significant opportunity for LA to strengthen its playoff position and create separation in an increasingly competitive postseason race.

LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers - Wednesday, October 14

The Galaxy and the Timbers have met 36 times in MLS regular-season play, with LA holding a slight all-time advantage at 14-13-11, including a 10-5-5 record at home. The clubs played to a 1-1 draw in Portland in March 2025 before the Timbers claimed a 4-2 victory at Dignity Health Sports Park the following month. Earlier this season, the Galaxy earned a point on the road in Portland behind a João Klauss goal in a 1-1 draw.

Round One of the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs - Ventura County FC (Galaxy II) vs Minnesota United II - Friday, October 16

Following a successful regular season in which Head Coach Matt Taylor guided Ventura County FC (VCFC) to a third-place finish in the Western Conference, VCFC will host Minnesota United FC 2 at Dignity Health Sports Park on Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m. PT in the opening round of the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The matchup comes after MLS NEXT Pro's "Pick Your Opponent" format saw Ventura County select Minnesota as their first-round postseason opponent.

VCFC earned its playoff berth behind one of the conference's most balanced performances, finishing with the most goals scored in the Western Conference while conceding the fourth-fewest goals. The club also posted the second-best goal differential in the conference, pairing a high-powered attack with a disciplined defensive unit. Led by standout campaigns from Julian Placias (12 goals, 8 assists), Eric Preston (9 goals), and goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon, VCFC paired one of the Western Conference's most potent attacks with a strong defensive foundation throughout the season. The club was particularly strong during the heart of the campaign, compiling a 9-2-3 record from June through September. With momentum, attacking firepower, and a strong defensive record, VCFC enters the postseason looking to make a deep playoff run.

Adding to the festive atmosphere surrounding the match, the sold-out Treats-n-Suites event will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The popular community event transforms the stadium's luxury suites into a safe trick-or-treating experience for local children and includes a costume parade, themed hayrides, carnival games hosted by the City of Carson, and interactive wildlife exhibits.

LA Galaxy vs San Diego FC - Saturday, October 17

Saturday's match between the Galaxy and SDFC will serve as just the fourth meeting between the clubs. San Diego swept the season series during its inaugural 2025 campaign and followed with a 3-1 win in the first matchup of 2026. In that contest, Hirving "Chucky" Lozano scored the Galaxy's lone goal against his former team, while the Galaxy enter Saturday's match looking to earn their first victory against their Southern California adversaries.

Saturday's match will also feature a special celebration honoring the retirement of LA Galaxy alumnus Gyasi Zardes. Zardes will be recognized during the match and participate in a fan meet-and-greet before the match. The Briggs, longtime favorites among Galaxy supporters, will perform pregame at the Northeast Tailgate Pad before returning for a performance of "This Is LA" at halftime.
