TODAY'S STORYLINES:
Valor host Empire Friday night at Capital One Arena
The Valor play their second-straight home game this Friday, June 29 at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena, taking on the Albany Empire. This will be the final meeting between the two teams this regular season. Albany defeated Washington, 48-21, in the teams' last meeting on May 26. The game will be broadcast live on Monumental Sports Network, NBC Sports Washington, AFL Now and Facebook Watch.
Valor drop home matchup after Soul's dominant second half
The Valor dropped a home matchup with the Philadelphia Soul, 63-28, Friday night at Capital One Arena. Philadelphia outscored Washington, 35-0, in the second half after the two teams entered halftime tied at 28. Valor quarterback Arvell Nelson totaled four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in the loss. Soul fullback Jeramie Richardson was named the game's Most Valuable Player after running for four touchdowns.
Gray's scoring streak
Valor wideout Reggie Gray leads the team in every major receiving category: receptions (59), receiving yards (670) and receiving touchdowns (15). In Friday's game against Philadelphia, Gray caught seven passes for 62 yards and a touchdown, extending his scoring streak to eight games. Valor wide receiver Josh Reese has Washington's second-longest scoring streak at four games.
