Valkyries Unveil Official Mascot Val

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Valkyries revealed its official mascot Sunday against the San Diego Mojo.
"Val, the Valkyries' newest team addition and mascot, captures the essence of who we are," said Valkyries Chief Executive Officer George Manias. "True to our logo and marks, Val is a Nordic strong, female figure who is fiercely loyal, battle tested and watches over our team and protects us from our competition."
Val adds to the overall fan experience at Valkyries home matches at Addition Financial Arena.
"As we launched the inaugural season of the Orlando Valkyries, we wanted to offer fans more than just a competitive volleyball match to attend," Manias said. "We wanted to offer a fun, affordable, entertainment experience for all of our fans to enjoy. The bulk of our fans and match attendees are families with young kids, so a mascot fits in great to the match day experience for those particular fans."
Val will attend all Valkyries home matches and community events.
"Val will make appearances with the team at as many local community events as possible, both in season and in the offseason," Manias added. "So as to keep the Valkyries top of mind and available to our fans."
The Valkyries take the court on Thursday, April 18 against the Grand Rapids Rise at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena. The team's next home match is this Sunday, April 21 against the Atlanta Vibe at 2 p.m. at Addition Financial Arena.
