
Utica City Wins Second in a Row over Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA - Utica City FC (2-2) sparked their offense with three goals in a two-minute span of the first quarter and beat the Harrisburg Heat 9-4 on Saturday night.
For the fourth time in four games, UCFC was scored on first. Brady Kerstetter found the back of the net past Brian Wilkin at 13:05 of the first.
From there, Utica City would score three goals in a minute and 35 seconds. Patrick Thompson, Issak Somow and Joey Tavernese all scored their first of the season for the City.
After an early Harrisburg tally in the second, Utica City ripped three more off in a row. Thompson got his second at 7:05 of the second. Christhian Segura and Slav Ubiparipovic got the next two and Utica City led 6-2.
The rest of the third quarter featured a Harrisburg goal from David Mellor at 5:53, and then back-to-back goals from Nate Bourdeau and Tavernese for UCFC.
In the 4th, Utica City's lead was cut to four with Jerjer Gibson's goal. Quenton Swift answered at 6:42 for his first goal with Utica City to make it 9-4.
Overall, the game was very clean. Just one penalty was called against Utica City and they scored shorthanded. For the 4th consecutive night, Utica City outshot their opponent. They finished the day with 23 shots to Harrisburg's 16.
Thompson led the way with two goals and an assist. Tavernese and Ubiparipovic each added two points.
