Utica Brewers to Host MLB Pitch, Hit and Run on May 24

UTICA, N.Y. - Utica Brewers Owner and Team President Butch Russo announced today that the Brewers will host the Pitch, Hit and Run competition through Major League Baseball on May 24 at North Utica Little League.

Registration will begin for participants at 8:00 a.m., with the competition beginning at 9:00 a.m. All participants will receive a ticket to the Brewers home opener, which takes place at 7:00 p.m. on June 7 against the Watertown Rams at Murnane Field.

Pitch, Hit & Runâ=84 cent is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball=C2©. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2014 MLBâ=84 cent All-Star Game=C2©.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age and gender group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition, which will be held in Syracuse on May 31 at the baseball field at Onondaga Community College.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. For questions concerning the competition, please contact your Little League Organizer.
