Utah Warriors Announce NIL Deals with Jaren Hall, Britain Covey, Kingsley Suamataia and Chaz Ah You

HERRIMAN, UT - The Utah Warriors have partnered with college athletes Jaren Hall, Chaz Ah You, Kingsley Suamataia and Britain Covey in a first-of-its-kind Name, Image and Likeness deal for the duration of the 2022 Major League Rugby season, the team announced Monday. This is the first such deal for a professional rugby team to partner with collegiate athletes.

"We're excited to work with all four of these great athletes," said Warriors Co-Founder and CEO Kimball Kjar, "As some of the state's top football players that all have Utah roots, they stand for everything that the Warriors represent in being a part of this great state. Football's roots are tied to rugby, which is one of the world's largest sports, and we're excited to work with these athletes to showcase the connections and athleticism of both sports here in the state of Utah and beyond."

As part of this unique partnership, Hall, Nacua, Suamataia and Covey will all make appearances at Utah Warriors Home Matches this season. As part of their appearance, each player will participate in the pre-game ball delivery at midfield as well as sign autographs, and take pictures with fans at the match.

Additionally, these athletes will collaborate with the Utah Warriors creative and social media team on social media content throughout the year. The athletes will also have the option to work with the organization's creative team to design a unique piece of team merchandise, of which the athlete will receive 50% of proceeds.

The Utah Warriors retained Oncoor Marketing, a Utah based sports marketing agency, to secure the athletes and provide ongoing assistance and support for the duration of this campaign.

Hall, a quarterback for Brigham Young University, started 10 games for the Cougars in 2021, throwing for 2,583 yards and 20 touchdowns en route to an 8-2 record. A two-sport athlete, Hall was also a member of the BYU Baseball team as an outfielder in 2019 and 2020 before turning his attention to football full-time. Hall is from Spanish Fork, Utah.

Ah You, a linebacker for BYU, appeared in seven games for the Cougars this last season, tallying 39 total tackles and one interception. Ah You was a four-star prospect out of Timpview High School before enrolling at BYU. A native of Saratoga Spring, Utah, Ah You is also the son of BYU Executive Coordinator of Recruiting and Player Personnel Jasen Ah You.

Suamataia, an offensive lineman for BYU, was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2021 out of Orem High School, where he was teammates with Puka Nacua. Suamataia spent the 2021 season with the Oregon Ducks before transferring to BYU in November. To this date, Suamataia is the third-highest recruit ever to attend BYU.

Covey, a wide receiver and kick returner, was a five-year star for the University of Utah, where he was a five-time All-Pac-12 selection and set the school record for career punt return yards. Covey also led the Utes in receiving yards in three of his five seasons. After finishing off his college career with a Pac-12 Championship and an appearance in the Rose Bowl, Covey is currently preparing for the 2022 NFL Draft, to be held this April. Covey is from Provo, Utah.

Fans who wish to support these student-athletes will also be able to purchase tickets to Warriors' matches using each athlete's ticket code throughout the 2022 season. Each athlete will receive 10% of the money spent using their ticket code.
