Utah Warriors News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - The Utah Warriors have announced their Selects roster ahead of the 2023 Major League Rugby Season. The 23-man roster includes 14 players who claim Utah as home, with several of those athletes hailing from Herriman.
The roster also features 8 athletes who participated in the Crossroads Cup, which was created this year as a way for Utah's adult rugby players to showcase and develop their skills and potentially receive an invitation to play with the Selects.
"We are very excited about the upcoming 2023 Utah Warriors Selects season," said Oli Kilifi, Selects Head Coach. "We selected players based on their performance in the Crossroads Cup competition, as well as players who are currently in the development pool on the senior men's side. We are proud of the fact that many of these players are local, which fits into our motto, goals and ideology here at the Warriors organization of being 'Utah Built.'"
The Utah Selects serves as the Warriors' stated minor-league developmental team, preparing rugby players who show potential to graduate to the Warriors MLR squad. This year, the Selects season will be played in conjunction with the MLR season, with the Selects playing their home games just prior to the Warriors'.
