Utah Tops Tulsa 96-88 Friday Night

TULSA, Okla. - Elijah Millsap of the Tulsa 66ers (23-9) posted a game-high 21 points and Byron Mullens added 12 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for his second double-double of the season, but the Utah Flash (15-15) came out on top 96-88 Friday night inside the Tulsa Convention Center.

Also leading Tulsa was forward Marcus Lewis who poured in 14 points while adding eight rebounds and a team-high six assists.

"Utah is a really good team and they just kept coming at us all night and they made the plays down the stretch," 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. "We have to tighten a couple of things up, but that's what is great about the D-league, we get to play again tomorrow night. It's another opportunity to get better."

Leading Utah was Ronald DuPree with 14 points and Kevin Kruger with a team-high six assists. Tony Gaffney and Nkem Ojougboh each recorded eight rebounds.

The game, which marked Tulsa's annual "Thunder affiliate night", featured six ties and six lead changes.

Defensively, the 66ers forced 23 Flash turnovers and posted 13 steals on the night.

Tulsa and Utah will complete the back-to-back set tomorrow night, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Tulsa Convention Center. For $10 fans can enjoy a lower-level ticket, hot dog and soda.
