Strong Fourth Quarter Pushes Stampede Past Skyforce

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 11, 2011) - The Idaho Stampede defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 125-115 at the Sioux Falls Arena on Friday night. Sioux Falls trailed by just one point (87-86) heading into the final quarter but surrendered a season-high 38 fourth-quarter points to end a modest two-game winning streak.

Sioux Falls (5-23) led 28-23 after the first quarter behind 16 points from NBA D-League All-Star Patrick Ewing, Jr. Idaho (12-19) outscored Sioux Falls 36-26 in the second quarter to take a 59-54 halftime lead. Former Skyforce forward Jermareo Davidson had a strong first half for the Stampede with 14 points on 7-of-11 field goals.

Idaho pushed the lead to double digits (66-56) early in the second half but Sioux Falls would not go away and only trailed by two points (76-74) following a dunk by Ewing, Jr. that brought the crowd to their feet. There were eight lead changes in the first five minutes of the final stanza but Idaho controlled the final seven minutes to pick up their second straight road win.

Davidson finished with 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds. Antoine Walker scored 23 points while Portland Trail Blazers assignee Armon Johnson added 22 points and six assists off the bench.

Ewing, Jr. recorded season-highs in points (29) and rebounds (16) to lead the Skyforce. David Bailey contributed 25 points and seven assists while Raymond Sykes posted 16 points off the bench.

The same two teams tangle tomorrow night at the Sioux Falls Arena at 7 p.m. CT.
