Reno Bighorns News Release
OREM, Utah-Reno rallied to tie the score with six minutes left in the game, but Utah outscored the Bighorns 13-3 the rest of the way in an 85-75 Flash victory over Reno Friday night in the McKay Events Center.
The Flash (10-7) led by nine points early on in the fourth quarter, but the Bighorns (5-11) would chip away at the lead, ultimately leaning on a three-point play by Russell Robinson that tied the score at 72 apiece with six minutes remaining.
From there, though, Utah took control. The Flash went on a 13-0 run over the next five-plus minutes to seal the game and send Reno to its sixth-straight defeat.
Robinson led the Bighorns with 17 points, while Doug Thomas chipped-in 13 points and eight rebounds. Reno shot just 38.4 percent from the floor and committed 22 turnovers.
Bennet Davis paced the Flash with 17 points. Luke Nevill kicked-in 16, and Carlos Wheeler pulled-down a game-high nine rebounds.
The Bighorns get right back at it on Saturday night when they head south to take on the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. Tip-time from Tingley Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. PT.
After four-straight on the road, the Bighorns will return home on Jan. 12 to tangle with the Utah Flash. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Reno Events Center. Tickets are on-sale now at www.RenoBighorns.com, the Reno Events Center Box Office, Silver Legacy Box Office, or by visiting any Northern Nevada Ticketmaster location or Web site.
