Over his final two seasons at Northwest Missouri State, he posted 17 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss.

Prior to the 2012 NFL Draft, Garcia (6-2, 285, San Jose State) participated in the San Francisco 49ers' local pro day. During his college career, he produced 5.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss for San Jose State.
