Utah Blaze News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze strengthened its roster with the addition of six rookie players, as the team announced it has agreed to terms with WR Braylon Bell, OL Branden Curry, DE Roberto Davis, DT Pablo Garcia, OL Bryce Tennison and DT Renard Williams.
Bell (6-6, 205, Abilene Christian) earned a contract after impressing coaches during a private workout. The six-foot-six wideout played collegiately at Cisco College (TX) before finishing his career at Abilene Christian University.
Curry (6-5, 310, Florida A&M) began his career at Marshall University before transferring to Florida A&M. As a senior in 2011, he started every game at offensive tackle and helped produce the second-best passing offense in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Davis (6-3, 260, Northwest Missouri State) enters his rookie season in the AFL after playing in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the United Football League with the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Over his final two seasons at Northwest Missouri State, he posted 17 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss.
Prior to the 2012 NFL Draft, Garcia (6-2, 285, San Jose State) participated in the San Francisco 49ers' local pro day. During his college career, he produced 5.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss for San Jose State.
Tennison (6-3, 305, Southern Methodist) started 44 games at every interior offensive line position during his career at Southern Methodist University. In each of his four seasons, he blocked for an offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally in passing offense.
Williams (6-2, 300, Eastern Washington) helped Eastern Washington win an FCS National Championship as a junior in 2010. In four seasons, he set an all-time school record with six forced fumbles and placed fourth in EWU history with 49 tackles for loss, as well as sixth with 22.5 sacks.
