Charleston Swamp Foxes News Release
After being injured on the final play of the Swamp Foxes` win Saturday night, the Swamp Foxes are happy to report that WR/DB Joe Judge was taken to and released from the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System hospital on Saturday night. X-rays taken of Judge`s neck and back turned up negative, therefore he was allowed to return to Charleston on the team bus. On the final play of the Charleston Swamp Foxes` 52-29 win over the Richmond Speed, Judge was hit from behind after catching a pass from back-up quarterback Tim Hicks. His head and neck were driven into the Richmond coliseum turf after the collision with the Speed`s defensive back. Judge laid motionless for a few seconds before being attended to by the Swamp Foxes` Trident Sports Medicine trainer, Laren Siefken and the Speed`s training staff. The coaching staff reports that Judge was alert and able to move his hands and feet prior to being taken from the field to the hospital. On the night, Judge caught five passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he led the way for the 5-5 Foxes, tallying eight stops and forcing a fumble.
