Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

Buffalo, N.Y. - Channel your inner Phil Connors. The fictitious weatherman played by Bill Murray was forced to live life in the loop of a single repeating day in the 1993 classic "Groundhog Day". It seems there's a bit of Punxsutawney in the life of Dave Miley's club. A week's worth of constant rain made the playing surface at Coca-Cola Field unplayable on Saturday, and postponed a scheduled doubleheader between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A, New York Yankees) and the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays). It marks the RailRiders' fourth straight day without play thanks to Mother Nature.

The games will be made up later in the season. That shortens what was a four-day, four-game set into one afternoon of action with a doubleheader on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. The RailRiders Pregame Show will begin at 12:35 p.m. each day on NEPA Sports Radio - The GAME, Northeast PA's largest sports radio network: 100.7 FM (Wilkes-Barre & surrounding areas), 1340 WYCK-AM (Luzerne County), 1400 WICK-AM (Lackawanna County), 1440 WCDL-AM (Lackawanna County & Pocono Lake Region), and 106.7 FM in the Pocono Lake Region (Wayne & Pike Counties). In addition to the over-the-air broadcast, all games will be streamed live over the Internet with links available through swbrailriders.com and boldgoldradionepa.com. The games will also be streamed through the RadioBOLD app, available for free in the Apple and GooglePlay Marketplace and at RadioBOLD.com.

The RailRiders return home for an eight-game homestand from April 19-26. Great ticket packages, group deals and single-game tickets are available. With no upper deck at PNC Field anymore, every seat in the ballpark provides the supreme views and intimacy that make minor league baseball so special at incredibly affordable prices. For more information, please visit the team's official website, www.swbrailriders.com, or call 570-969-BALL (2255).
