IRVINE, Calif. - Arizona United Soccer Club extended its unbeaten streak with a 1-1 draw against OC Blues FC. Arizona United SC (2-3-3) has now gone unbeaten in four consecutive matches.

"If you look at the chances created, they probably had a couple more than we did, but I felt we had a couple break aways that we should have done better on," said Arizona United head coach Frank Yallop. "But any time you can come away from home to a tough place like this and to a good team, to get a point is good. So I was pleased."

Arizona United's lone goal of the match was a moment of ambition from midfielder Luke Rooney. A loose ball popped out to him in space, over 20 yards from the goal. He chested the ball down and then, after it took a bounce, he swung his leg around and smacked the ball past a very surprised goalkeeper.

"I tried some new things that I've been working on," Rooney said. "I just took a touch. It wouldn't really come down for me, so I didn't really have any choice but to shoot. So I just took a little volley and it managed to get past the keep, surprisingly, in the corner."

But Arizona United SC couldn't hold on to its 1-0 lead. In the 79th minute, OC Blues (3-3-2) kicked a long corner toward the the far left post. Daniel Baccielo headed the ball down and toward the right post, beating the mass of defenders trying to stop it.

"I think we are a little bit gun shy at the moment with our finishing and the creativity around the box has not quite been there," Yallop said. "We tried hard, I thought we looked good all night, Luke was quite dangerous second half, so all in all I was pleased with the result."

Arizona United will take a break from USL action with a U.S. Open Cup match this Wednesday, May 18, against FC Tucson in Tucson, Arizona. That match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
