
United Indoor Football Week Eleven Preview

Omaha, NE - Week eleven of the United Indoor Football season is upon us. The conference races remain very competitive as the regular season begins its final month. This weekend brings three re-matches from earlier this season and a first-time matchup between two teams. The games are as follows: the Beef battle with the Outlaws, the Rage rumble with the Ice, the Storm showdown with the Wild and the Extreme host the Bandits.
BILLINGS (6-3) vs. OMAHA (8-2)
At Omaha, NE
Saturday, 7 p.m. Central
The Omaha Beef will host the Billings Outlaws in a crucial Western Conference clash for both teams Saturday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The teams met in week 1 with the Outlaws winning 70-37. The Beef are coming off a 53-47 road victory over the Sioux City Bandits last Saturday evening at the Tyson Events Center. Leading the way for Omaha in the victory were defensive back Brent Hafford and quarterback James McNear. Hafford led the team with 13.5 tackles (11 solo, five assisted) and also intercepted a pass. McNear tallied 210 yards of total offense (52 rushing and 158 passing) and threw for six touchdowns (to four different receivers). For his efforts, McNear was named UIF Offensive Player of the Week. The Outlaws are also coming off a win, having defeated the Bloomington Extreme 60-26 last Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. The Outlaws were led by quarterback Chris Dixon and their defense. Dixon tallied 173 yards of total offense (27 rushing and 146 passing) and threw for five touchdowns (to four different receivers). The defense accumulated four tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), seven pass break ups and a blocked kick.
SIOUX CITY (3-6) vs. BLOOMINGTON (5-5)
At Bloomington, IL
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Bloomington Extreme return home and will host the Sioux City Bandits Saturday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The teams last met in week 8 with the Extreme winning 53-49 in Sioux City. Bloomington lost to the Billings Outlaws 60-26 last Saturday on the road. In the game, the Extreme were led by quarterback Dusty Burk and defensive back Mike Crumpler. Burk had 191 yards of total offense (21 rushing and 170 passing) and had a hand in three touchdowns (one rushing and two passing). Crumpler made a team-high nine tackles (five solo and eight assisted) to lead the defense. Sioux City fell 53-47 to the Omaha Beef last Saturday at home. Leading the way for the Bandits were defensive back Chad Husted and quarterback Chad Kapanui. Husted made a team-high 11.5 tackles (nine solo, five assisted) to lead the defense. Kapanui tallied 234 yards of total offense (seven rushing and 227 passing) and had a hand in six touchdowns (one rushing and five passing).
WICHITA (2-7) vs. SIOUX FALLS (7-2)
At Sioux Falls, SD
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Sioux Falls Storm complete a two-game homestand by hosting the Wichita Wild Saturday evening at the Sioux Falls Arena. This marks the first time these two teams have met. Last Saturday, the Storm beat the RiverCity Rage 60-13 at the Sioux Falls Arena. Leading the way for Sioux Falls were quarterback Terrance Bryant and the team's defense. Bryant completed 17 of 22 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns to lead the offense. The Storm's defense tallied 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, three interceptions, two safeties and a fumble recovered for a touchdown. The Wild also won last Saturday, edging the Colorado Ice 35-31 at the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch. Wichita was led by quarterback Matt Kelly and their defense. Kelly tallied 157 yards of total offense (31 rushing and 126 passing) and threw for three touchdowns (all to Donald Payne). The defense tallied five tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, four pass break ups and had a fumble recovery.
RIVERCITY (3-6) vs. COLORADO (3-6)
At Loveland, CO
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Mountain
The Colorado Ice will finish off a three-game homestand by hosting the RiverCity Rage Saturday evening at the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch. The teams met in week 1 with the Rage clipping the Ice 42-35 at the Family Arena. Colorado fell last Saturday to the Wichita Wild by a score of 35-31 at home. Leading the way for the Ice were wide receiver George Hill and linebacker Ryan Palmer. Hill caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown while also returning seven kickoffs for 190 yards and a missed field goal 18 yards. In all, Hill finished with 255 all-purpose yards. Palmer led Colorado with a team-high 9.5 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. RiverCity fell to Bloomington 51-42 last Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Leading the way for the Rage were linebacker Joe Bevis and wide receiver Hurtis Chinn. Bevis made a team-high 10 tackles (nine solo and two assisted) and had two tackles for loss. Chinn caught three passes for 31 yards and also returned four kicks for 111 yards to finish the evening with 142 all-purpose yards. For his efforts, he was named UIF Special Teams Player of the Week.
