Union Omaha Unveils 2024 USL League One Regular Season Schedule

PAPILLION, Neb. - Union Omaha announced today its 2024 USL League One regular season schedule that kicks off in March and runs through late October. The defending USL League One Players' Shield Winners are scheduled to play 15 home matches as part of the full 32-match regular-season schedule.
The regular season campaign gets underway on the road on March 16 with a trip to Central Valley Fuego FC on March 16. Union Omaha begins its home campaign when it welcomes Charlotte Independence on April 20 for a highly-anticipated rematch of the 2023 USL League One Semifinal. Every USL League One team will make at least one trip to the Werner Park pitch.
New in 2024, the Owls will also participate in League One's first in-season cup competition, establishing a unique platform for clubs to compete for multiple trophies. Each team will play a total of eight matches in group play, four home and four away. Teams will play twice against every other club in the group in addition to two matches against clubs from another group, based on geographic proximity, to complete the eight-game group play.
Union Omaha will match up in the West Group against Central Valley Fuego, Northern Colorado Hailstorm and USL League One newcomer Spokane Velocity. Outside of the group, the Owls will also face Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on June 27 and Forward Madison on August 29.
The three group winners will advance to the knockout rounds, and the fourth playoff spot will be awarded to the non-group winner with the most goals scored in group play. In 2024, the group stage will kick off the weekend of April 27 and finish the weekend of August 31. The cup final will be held on September 28 or 29.
