Union Omaha Signs Two New Players in Advance of Inaugural Season

PAPILLION, Neb. - Today, Union Omaha announced two new additions to its roster in advance of the 2020 inaugural season. Including these two signings, pending league and federation approval, Union Omaha's rosters sits at a total of 21 players and 12 countries represented.

"Both of these players came to us on trial and really impressed us," said head coach, Jay Mims. "Seba

and Illal both have unique skill sets that will help the team immediately, but we're also excited to see how they fit into the team long-term. Our steam's chemistry keeps on building, and it has been fun to watch all of the players showing genuine care for each other."

Illal Osumanu, joins the club from Marshall University men's soccer team. In 2019, Osumanu was selected as First Team All-Conference in C-USA, after leading a defense that only gave up 15 goals in 18 games and was the first (scholar) All-America in Marshall University's soccer history.

Hometown: Nima, Accra, Ghana

Sebastián Contreras, joins the club from El Paso Locomotive FC. Contreras made 32 appearances in the USL Championship in the 2019 season, notching two goals and five assists toward the end of the 2019 season while ranking in the top 50 for chances created. Contreras played professionally for teams in Venezuela and Argentina.
