Undefeated Alley Cats look to make noise against Thunder

December 18, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Indiana AlleyCats News Release

Anderson, IN--What better way to test a 13-0 record then to turn up the competition a notch. That's exactly what Rob Blackwell, owner of the Indiana Alley Cats, plans to do. The Alley Cats have added the undefeated Lincoln Thunder to their schedule and will host them on Friday, December 23. In turn, Indiana will travel to Lincoln Nebraska for another game on Thursday, December 29. "Adding Lincoln to our schedule will not only bring us more recognition throughout the league" says Coach Greg Graham, "It will also allow us to take advantage of the opportunity to play a team we have not yet faced, just to see how good we really are." Most would agree, that you are only as good as your next best competitor and since Lincoln is undefeated, this should make for an exciting match-up.

But wait there's more. Not only will the Alley Cats host the undefeated Thunder, they will do so in the historic Wigwam in Anderson, IN. In a 2004 USA Today.com article, the USA TODAY selected the Wigwam as one of the 10 best high school gyms in the US. The Wigwam, which opened in 1961, is the second largest high school gym and is nationally recognized. The Alley Cats want to play a game that true Indiana hoop obsessed fans only dream about. What better place than in the heart of the Anderson community. In addition, the Alley Cats want to continue to reach out to the surrounding cities and get them into the Wigwam on Friday as well. The Wigwam, with its importance to the community, will only enhance the excitement this game will be sure to bring. Coach Graham believes, "Having the opportunity to play on this court is not only an honor but will also serve the community and give them a chance to come out and watch their Indiana Alley Cats."

Indiana looks to head into this game with a 14-0 record, but they must first get pass Detroit. The Alley Cats face the Wheels on Tuesday, December 20 @ 7pm at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium on the campus of Anderson University.

The Alley Cats will host the Lincoln Thunder on Friday, December 23, 2005@ 7pm at the Wigwam, located on 1229 Lincoln Street, Anderson, IN. Indiana will continue to make all of their games as fan-friendly as possible with give-a-ways, post game autograph sessions and affordable ticket prices. Tickets for Friday can be purchased day of game at the Wigwam. All tickets are general admission and will be priced as follows: children $3, high school and college students w/ ID $5 and adults $10.
