UIF Week 3 Players of the Week Announced

Omaha, NE - James Walton, Joe Bevis and Travis Salter have been selected as United Indoor Football (UIF) players of the week for their play in week 3 of the UIF season.
Walton, wide receiver for the Bloomington Extreme, earns Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in last week's game. He caught a team-high nine passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns in the Extreme's 59-38 win over the Wichita Wild last Saturday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. This weekend, Walton and his teammates complete a two-game homestand by facing off against the Colorado Ice Friday evening.
Bevis, linebacker for the RiverCity Rage, has been tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week. In the Rage's 36-18 win over the Omaha Beef, Bevis made 11 solo tackles and assisted on six more for a team-high of 14. He also contributed a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry. This weekend, RiverCity has a bye before making a return trip to Omaha and will face the Beef April 5th at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
Salter, linebacker for the Billings Outlaws, is honored with Special Teams Player of the Week. He contributed a team-high 11.5 tackles in the Outlaws' 72-38 win over the Sioux City Bandits. Two of his tackles came on special teams. Salter also tallied five tackles for loss and two sacks (one was a safety when he tackled Sioux City quarterback Chad Kapanui in the end zone). This weekend, the Outlaws make a return trip to Sioux City and will face the Bandits Friday evening at the Tyson Events Center.
