
UIF Playoff tiebreakers announced

Omaha, NE - United Indoor Football (UIF) playoffs begin the weekend of July 21. Sioux Falls has locked up the number one seed and home field advantage in the Western Conference and Rock River has secured a playoff birth in the Eastern Conference. Mathematically all teams are still in the hunt, but week 14 could bring the first elimination. As teams make their run toward the playoffs, the league is readying itself for seeding the conference semi-finals, conference finals and United Bowl III and has announced its tiebreaker system.
The top four teams in each conference make the playoffs. Round one will be conference semi-finals with an Eastern Conference bracket and a Western Conference bracket. In each conference the #1 seed hosts the #4 seed and the #2 seed hosts the #3 seed. Winners advanced to their respective conference championship games. The highest remaining seed in each conference will host.
Here are the UIF tiebreakers and seeding criteria for conference semi-finals and conference finals:
1. Overall winning percentage
2. Head-to-head winning percentage in regular season games played against one another
3. Winning percentage in regular season games played against common opponents (at least 10 games)
4. Point differential in regular season games played against one another
5. Point differential in all regular season games played
6. Point differential in games played against other teams in the division
7. Point differential in games played against common opponents (at least 10 games)
8. Coin toss
United Bowl III is scheduled for Saturday, August 4. The following tiebreaker system is in place to determine the host:
1. Overall winning percentage
2. Head-to-head winning percentage in regular season games played against one another
3. Point differential in regular season games played against one another
4. Point differential in all regular season games played
5. Coin toss
