UHL All-Star Classic jerseys unveiled

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) unveiled Thursday the jerseys for the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic. The jerseys were unveiled during a press conference at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Pepsi is a proud sponsor of the All-Star Classic and presented "Team Aquafina" jerseys for the "Group A" All-Stars and "Team Gatorade" jerseys for the "Group B" All-Stars. The Aquafina jerseys are black with two shades of blue trim and have an Aquafina logo crest on the front. The Gatorade jerseys are white with green and orange trim and have a Gatorade logo crest on the front. In addition, every jersey will feature a patch of each player's respective UHL team.

"Pepsi continues to be an outstanding supporter of the UHL and we are thrilled that our All-Star players will be wearing these jerseys," stated Richard Brosal, UHL President/CEO. "Along with the All-Star jerseys, the jerseys for the alumni game look fantastic and we are extremely happy that they will benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital."

UHL All-Star players and coaches will visit Children's Hospital on Tuesday, January 24th, giving them an opportunity to tour the facility and spend time with some of the patients at the hospital. Prior to the All-Star contest, a special game featuring the St. Louis Blues Alumni and a UHL Commissioner's Team will take place. The jerseys worn during the alumni game will be placed in an online auction, via the UHL website, following the All-Star Classic with the proceeds going to St. Louis Children's Hospital programs and services. The St. Louis Blues Alumni will wear their signature jerseys will the 'Blue Note' logo crest on the front. The jerseys worn by the UHL Commissioner's Team are navy blue and feature artwork of the St. Louis skyline which includes the famous Arch.

Founded in 1879, St. Louis Children's Hospital is one of the premier children's hospitals in the United States. It serves not just the children of St. Louis, but children across the world. The hospital provides a full range of pediatric services to the St. Louis metropolitan area and a primary service region covering six states. As the pediatric teaching hospital for Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Children's Hospital offers nationally recognized programs for physician training and research.

"The All-Star Classic is a great event to showcase our league and we are excited that we can bring it to the St. Louis region," stated Mike Shanahan, Jr., Owner and President of the Missouri River Otters. "We are so fortunate that we have one of the nation's best pediatric hospitals in our community, so anytime there is an opportunity, we want to support their efforts."

The 2006 UHL All-Star Classic is being hosted by the Missouri River Otters on Wednesday, January 25th, 2006 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. Players representing all 14 UHL Member Clubs will participate in the annual hockey event. The festivities begin with a special gala on Tuesday, January 24th at 7:00 PM at the Embassy Suites in St. Charles. All-Star players, celebrity guests, and entertainment will highlight the gala. A media luncheon is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25th at the Embassy Suites. All-Star players will be officially introduced to members of the media at the luncheon.

The UHL All-Star Classic will be broadcast on "tape delay" by FSN Midwest on Friday, January 27th and Saturday, January 28th. Further information about broadcast times will be released at a later date.

The United Hockey League is celebrating its 15th season. The league is comprised of 14 Member Clubs competing in seven states. The Missouri River Otters are in their seventh season in the UHL and play their home games at the beautiful Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
