
Ubiparipovic, Toby Lead Utica to Win over Orlando

Utica, N.Y. - Utica City rode multi-point efforts from Slavisa Ubiparipovic and Darren Toby en route to a 10-6 win over the Orlando SeaWolves Sunday afternoon at the Adirondack Bank Center. Andrew Coughlin made seven saves in the victory.
Richard Schermermund and Thiago Freitas scored twice in the first four minutes to give Orlando an early 2-0 lead. Utica responded with a pair of goals from Moojen and Ben Ramin 55 seconds apart to tie things at two. Mario Alvarez put Orlando back on top 30 seconds after Ramin's goal, followed up by a goal from Osvaldo Rojas to restore the SeaWolves' two-goal lead.
Darren Toby pulled Utica back within one early in the second quarter, taking a bounce pass from Moojen and driving it into the top corner. Gordy Gurson responded to make it 5-3 with 8:44 remaining in the second quarter. Two quick strikes from Ubiparipovic and Toby leveled the game at five with 3:20 to play in the second quarter.
Ubiparipovic gave Utica their first lead of the night with a power play goal three minutes into the third quarter. Slav netted the hat trick goal at the 8:39 mark of the third quarter to make it 7-5 Utica.
Mohamed Kenawy pushed the lead to 8-5 4:36 into the fourth quarter. Bo Jelovac added an empty net goal with 1:38 to play. Elmo Neto cut into the lead with a power play goal, but Tavernese put the game away with another empty netter with a minute to play.
Utica City returns to action Friday, February 8 when they hit the road to battle the Baltimore Blast in an Eastern Division showdown. Kickoff at SECU Arena is at 7:30 p.m.
