U.S NATIONAL ARENA TEAM MEMBER AND LEADING GOAL SCORER WILL BE BACK THIS WINTER

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights are bringing back the club's top goal scorer from last season, inking a deal with forward Joey Tavernese. Tavernese brings MASL experience and the ability to put the ball in the back of the net. Per league and team policies, terms of the agreement were not released.
Silver Knights Coach Ryan Hall beamed when talking about the contributions Tavernese made last season, "Joey's work rate on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball sets him apart from many targets in our league. His uncanny ability to always be in the right place at the right times allows him to score goals." Hall added, "We will need Joey to continue to score goals for us to compete for a championship."
Tavernese led the Eastern conference in goals with 26. His 34 points, comprised of 26 goals and 8 assists, showcased his offensive skills, but his work rate on the defensive side of the ball allowed us to turn the oppsosition over and create many scoring chances from Joey's defense said Coach Hall. Tavernese will be competing with the United States National Arena Team in Tunisia, Africa this month.
For Silver Knights General Manager Tommy Tanner, the decision to bring Tavernese back was an easy one.
"Joey brings the ability to score goals, which we've sometimes been lacking as a team," Tanner said. "He's great with the guys on and off the field, and he has truly become a leader."
Tavernese gets his chance to find the back of the net when the Silver Knights open their 2017/2018 campaign on the road vs the Turlock Express on Friday, November 3 in California. The Knights return home for their home opener November 10 at 7:05pm vs the Ontario Fury at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
