U.S. National Under-18 Team
The U.S. Under-18 Team is now 6-6-0-1 on the season after its weekend in New York against SUNY Geneseo and Cornell University. The Under-18 Team defeated SUNY Geneseo on Friday night by a score of 5-4 for its second college win of the season. Cornell University defeated the Under-18 Team 7-2 on Saturday night. Team USA had a 5-1 lead going into the third period against Geneseo and held on for the 5-4 win, with Jordan Pearce stopping 23 of 27 shots.
The Under-18 Team's game on Halloween at Northern Michigan University is its last game before heading to Hutwill, Switzerland for a Four Nations Tournament from November 3rd through 10th with Sweden, Finland and Switzerland.

NTDP Alumni: NTDP Alumni Dusty Collins (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Bobby Seldon (Negaunee, Mich.) play for the Northern Michigan Wildcats.
NOTES: The Head Coach for the Wildcats is Walt Kyle (Waterloo, Iowa). An active participant for Team USA, Kyle was an assistant coach under Lou Vairo for Team USA, which finished fourth at the 2001 World Championships in Germany, and under Ron Wilson for the 1994 squad that competed in Milan, Italy. He also was a coach with the 1992 and '93 U.S. Junior National Teams, the former won the bronze medal â the highest finish ever by an American squad, under the older format, and one of only three U.S. teams to ever medal at the World Championships. He was the assistant coach of the national junior squad under Kevin Constantine in 1991.
Kyle was named to the USA Hockey's International Council in June of 2002.
A USA Hockey Outreach Clinic will be conducted in Marquette as well this weekend.
U.S. National Under-17 Team
The U.S. Under-17 Team split a pair of games in Illinois against the Springfield Jr. Blues. The Under-18 Team shutout Springfield 4-0 on Friday night as Jeff Frazee stopped all 58 shots he faced. The Jr. Blues won 7-3 the following night.

The Under-17 Team has played Youngstown three times this season (1-2-0) winning the first contest 4-3 in a shootout at home and dropping a pair of 4-3 games in Youngstown.
POWER PLAY = POWER PAY - USA Hockey's National Team Development Program is announcing it will pay some lucky fan's power bill at the end of the October 29th game against the Youngstown Phantoms. Fans need to bring their current residential power bill to the game. Every time Team USA scores a power play goal we will announce a finalist. At the end of the game each finalist will come out onto the ice for an on-ice contest to decide the winner.
The team is also having a Halloween costume contest that evening with the winner of the best costume contest receiving a signed Team USA Four Nations Shirt signed by the Championship Team. The Halloween contest will happen during the intermission. The NTDP has indicated that no member of the
visiting "Phantoms" hockey team can win the contest based on its jerseys!
2004 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE - The final schedule and the ticket structure for the 2004 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge were announced during a press conference today at the Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel in St. John's. The ten-team international Hockey Challenge is scheduled for December 29-January 4 in St. John's and Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Five Canadian teams, four European teams and the USA will take part in the 32-game event. ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT Thank you for all of the numerous releases and emails we receive about former NTDP Players. The NTDP weekly release will now feature one alumni per week for recognition. We will always keep you updated on any major news stories regarding alumni in a separate release.
This week's alumni spotlight is on A.J. Thelen (Savage, Minn.)
Thelen played a part in all four Michigan State goals scored on Friday night in a 4-3 win over Western Michigan assisting on three and scoring the game-tying goal with 9:37 left in the third period.
Thelen then assisted on the game-winning goal on Saturday night against Western Michigan.
