Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Thanks to U.S. Bank, low-income and homeless children from around the Inland Empire will benefit from every Quakes' home run this year.

Every time a Quakes' player goes deep during the 2010 season, U.S. Bank will be donating $50 to the Inland Empire United Way's Kids Pack Program, as part of the U.S. Bank Home Runs For Kids Program!

The Inland Empire United Way Kids Pack program addresses nutritional needs for local kids who have meals provided by schools during the week, but may go without good nutrition on the weekend. The Inland Empire United Way is able to secure a nutritious bag of food for the weekend for a child for $3. Therefore, every home run the Quakes hit, the $50 donation from U.S. Bank will feed eight hungry children for a weekend.

With Dillon Baird's team-leading fourth homer of the year coming on Sunday, the Quakes have now hit a total of 14 home runs in 18 games, meaning that U.S. Bank will donate $700 and help 112 children already during the 2010 season.

"When we started formulating our partnership with the Quakes, we outlined some traditional sponsorship benefits such as signage and promotions, but in addition, we really wanted to utilize the sponsorship to assist the Inland Empire community," said Bill Cave, president of U.S. Bank in the Inland Empire. "The Inland Empire United Way's Kids Pack program is the ideal program to truly have an impact on our youth and the future of our community."

"A well-nourished, satisfied child is far more ready to learn, not miss school and live a happy, healthy life," said Lorraine Ousley, Director of the Inland Empire United Way's Education & Health Initiative. "U.S. Bank has been a generous partner over the years, but this is really amazing. This program is so critical and to think how many kids it will feed over the course of the season is just incredible. We are extremely grateful to U.S. Bank."
