Texas Tycoons News Release
Denver, CO. The ABA Texas Tycoons won its third straight game on the road in Denver against the Colorado Storm, 103-92.
The Tycoons started slowly against the Storm as the Storm stormed out to leads of 5 and 7 points in the first quarter against the division leading Tycoons. But 6th Man Supremo, Donald Harris, once again came off the bench to get the Tycoons going by scoring 6 ponits in the first quarter to help give the Tycoons a slim 28-25 lead. In the second quarter, Mack Callier and DeRon Rutledge exerted themselves with a powerful display down inside to give the Tycoons control of the game.
But the young and spunky Storm surged back to take a 39-34 lead with 5 minutes to play in the first half. The Tycoons then went on a 10-0 run and led at halftime, 51-48. The third quarter belonged to the Tycoons led by guard Chris Davis' 12 points - and the lead was 11 going into the 4th quarter. The 4th Quarter was led by DeRon Rutledge with 13 of his 36 points and he had 15 rebounds for the game. Chris Davis had 23, Donald Harris 12. The Tycoons return home to WG Thomas Coliseum on Wed, Dec 8th to face Arkansas after games in Colorado and Cincinnati.
