
Ty Hanson Named Defensive Player of the Conference Semi's

Sioux City, IA - The Sioux City Musketeers have announced today that defenseman, Ty Hanson, has been named the USHL Defenseman of the Conference Semi-Finals.
In the three game sweep of the Lincoln Stars, Hanson accrued 4 points on two goals and two assists with a +3. He played the hero in game three when he scored the series clinching goal in overtime.
Hanson finished the season with 47 points, which placed him as the top scoring blue liner for the Musketeers and the fifth overall point getter. He also finished as the second highest scoring defenseman in the USHL.
In 59 games this season, the Hermantown, Minnesota native had 10 goals and 37 assists and finished with a +12. In his 117 USHL games, all with Sioux City, Hanson has racked up 72 points on 14 goals and 58 assists.
This is the third time Hanson has been named the defensive player of the week this season. He also was given the award in October of this year and for the final week of the regular season. At the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, Hanson was named USHL Second Team All-Rookie.
The Musketeers are in the Western Conference Final for the third time in four years and will take on the Fargo Force in a best of five series that begins tonight at 5:05 pm in Fargo. The Musketeers take on the Force at home in game three on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:05 pm.
