Two-Time Isobel Cup Champion, Two-Time All-Star Corinne Buie Is Back with the Buffalo Beauts

Buffalo Beauts News Release

There has yet to be an NWHL season without Corinne Buie playing in the Isobel Cup Final. The outstanding forward will continue her drive for five Finals, becoming the first player to sign with the Buffalo Beauts for the 2019-20 season.

Wearing a letter on her jersey the past two seasons in Buffalo, Buie has established herself as a well-respected leader and veteran since the NWHL's inception. She helped lift the Boston Pride to the first-ever Isobel Cup title in 2016, before scoring the championship-winning goal for the Beauts in the 2017 Cup Final to become the league's first two-time champion. Since then, she helped lead Buffalo to two more Final appearances.

"Buffalo has become like a second home to me, and I am very excited to continue my career as a Beaut," said Buie.

In addition to her pair of Isobel Cups, Buie has been selected to play in a pair of All-Star Games - in Pittsburgh in 2017 and in Minnesota in 2018 - and represented Team NWHL in the two-game series against the U.S. National Team prior to the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. In her three seasons as an integral part of Buffalo's offense, Buie has 29 points (16-13-29) in 50 games. She's 24-18-42 over 74 career games.

"I am so proud to have Corinne back for her fourth season in Buffalo," said general manager Mandy Cronin. "She has been an integral part of the organization, and we are thrilled to have her wearing Beauts' blue again."

A native of Edina, Minnesota, she played her collegiate hockey at Providence, amassing 100 points (44-56-100) in 128 games for the Friars. After posting 24 points (11-13-24) and a career-best plus-17 rating in her freshman season, she was named a Hockey East All-Rookie selection.

Buie graduated from Edina High School, where she was a prolific multi-sport athlete, earning seven varsity letters and All-State honors in both hockey and soccer.

While playing for the Beauts, Buie works as a barista at Daily Planet Coffee in Buffalo. She is continuing her education and is pursuing a career in audio engineering.
