
Two Late Goals Sink Juniors

Montreal, Quebec - The Montreal Juniors rallied from a 3-0 deficit for the second game in a row, only to fall 5-3 to the Gatineau Olympiques on two late third period goals.
Charles Landry started the comeback with his sixth of the year. Other Montreal markers came from Louis Leblanc and Francis Meilleur, all during the second period.
Gatineau jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals from Tommy Tremblay, Mitchell Porowski and Jean-Gabriel Pageau. They scored the only goals of the third period when Raphael Lafontaine and Adam Janosik beat J-F Berube.
Berube stopped 30 of 35 shots he faced in taking the loss. His Gatineau counterpart Maxime Clermont turned away 22 shots for the victory.
NOTES: The Montreal Juniors hit the road for two games Thursday and Friday in Rouyn-Noranda and Val d'Or. They return to action at the Verdun Auditorium next Sunday at 3:05pm when they host the Halifax Mooseheads. In a brief pre-game ceremony, Louis Leblanc was honoured for his accomplishments with the Canadian Junior National Team and their silver medal at the recent World Championships.
