Tulsa, OK - The Tulsa Noodlers (a.k.a Drillers) got two home runs to take an early lead over the Midland Saturday night, but were held without another hit over the final seven inning and dropped a 6-2 decision to the RockHounds. The loss was the second straight for the Noodlers and dropped them two games below .500 in the second half of the season with an 18-20 record.

Midland has now won three of the five games in the six-game set between the two teams, with Tulsa needing a victory in Sunday's finale to gain a series split.

Kyle McCann started Saturday's contest with his second homer in as many nights to stake the RockHounds to 1-0 first-inning lead.

Tulsa used a pair of long balls to go in front. Leonel Valera hit his sixth homer of the season in the bottom half of the first to tie the game, and Ismael Alcantara hit his first Double-A homer in the second to give Tulsa a 2-1 lead.

It would be the final offensive production of the night for the Noodlers, as they would not get another hit nor run for the rest of the game.

Landon Knack was making his first start since July 13 on the mound for Tulsa. After McCann's homer, he worked a scoreless second inning, but ran into trouble in the third.

Following two straight one-out singles, Knack gave way to John Rooney who struck out McCann for the second out of the inning. The third out would prove to be difficult to obtain. Jordan Diaz singled home the tying run before Rooney issued a walk to load the bases. The lefthander struck out Brett Harris for what could have been the final out of the inning, but the strike three was a wild pitch that allowed Harris to reach safely and the go-ahead run to score and give the RockHounds a 3-2 lead.

Midland added its fourth run in the sixth inning against Rooney before adding single runs in the seventh and ninth innings against Adolfo Ramirez to complete the game's scoring.

Tulsa had only two base runners over the final seven innings. Abiatal Avelino was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning, and Ty Kelly drew a walk in the eighth.

Knack suffered the loss to drop his record to 2-7. He was charged with three runs in 2.1 innings.

Midland starter David Leal was outstanding after the two early runs and evened his record at 4-4 with the win. He allowed the two hits and two run in seven total innings. The lefthander did not walk a batter and had just one strike out.

Chase Coen worked the final two innings to collect his fifth save.
