
Two Force players selected all-league

TAMPA, FLA. - Cleveland Force forward Everson Maciel of the Western Mass Pioneers and Force draft pick Said Ali of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds have each been selected first-team ALL-Pro Soccer League (PSL) Team. Maciel and Ali were two of the 22 players honored by the PSL for their performances this season as voted by team coaches and general managers.
In his first season with the Pioneers, Maciel was tied for the team lead in goals scored with six while adding two assists for a total of 14 points. The 14 points scored ranked Everson second on the team and tied for 19th in the PSL.
Ali made a major impact on the PSL in his first season with the Riverhounds. Said finished the regular season as Pittsburgh's leader as well as among the league leaders in goals and points scored. Ali recorded 15 goals and 34 points in his rookie season. The 15 goals ranked him tied for second and the 34 points was good for third in the PSL. In addition, Said has been named to the United Soccer League's Team of the Week eight times this season and also received Player of the Week honors for Week thirteen of the season.
Ali and the Riverhounds, the Atlantic Division Champions, will take on the Utah Blitzz in a PSL Semi-final showdown on Saturday, August 28 in Salt Lake City. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. (EST). Said was a big factor in Pittsburgh advancing to the semi-finals as he recorded two goals in a two game series with the Harrisburg City Islanders.
