Arkansas Diamonds News Release

(North Little Rock, AR) – The Arkansas Twisters score touchdowns as fast as cars racing around a track, and this Saturday, the two will combine to give fans the best of both worlds when the Twisters open the 2005 season.

It's all apart of NASCAR Night on Saturday, April 9th when Arkansas kicks off the 2005 season against Oklahoma City. Alltel Arena will be filled with literally tons of different NASCAR memorabilia for fans to enjoy and with so much NASCAR stuff Alltel Arena won't be big enough to hold everything.

The Action 2005 Choice of Champions Trailer Tour will be parked outside the arena and it features a 53 ft. semi-truck that opens up to show a NASCAR exhibit that includes Rusty Wallace's 2005 "Last Call" Dodge Charger. This will be one of the first appearances for the "Last Call" car, and it's the only Dodge Charger show car currently touring anywhere. The Action 2005 Choice of Champions Trailer includes a collection of race car collectibles, driver firesuits, including a suit once worn by the late Dale Earnhardt, and assorted specialty memorabilia.

"The Twisters are all about fan entertainment, both on and off the field," says Promotions Executive Todd Wright. "We're pleased to be able to bring such a fan friendly exhibit to our home opener."

Once fans walk into the arena, they will be greeted by different race cars including Mark Martin's #6 Viagra and Valvoline race cars.

Fans can also participate in the Twisters 200 where fans design their own cardboard box race cars and race at halftime for two tickets to the fall Nextel Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway and other various prizes.

Tickets are on sale now at the Alltel Arena box office or fans can call 501-975-7575 to order tickets over the phone.

Fans interested in participating in the Twisters 200 can call the Twisters office at 501-975-KICK for more information.
