Twins make roster moves

On Sunday morning the Twins optioned LHP Glen Perkins to Rochester, and traded OF Garrett Guzman to Washington for a player to be named later. Guzman was selected by Washington in the December Rule 5 draft, returned to the Twins this weekend, then traded back to the Nationals...

On Friday morning the Twins outrighted 1B/OF Garrett Jones to Rochester, and assigned LHP Randy Keisler and Ricky Barrett, 1B Randy Ruiz and INF Tommy Watkins to the Wings.

The Red Wings beat Louisville 4-3 Sunday. Garrett Jones homered and scored two runs, Tommy Watkins had a double and two RBI, and Matt Macri added two hits. Carmen Cali (two innings, two strikeouts) and Mariano Gomez (two innings, three strikeouts) provided solid relief. Danny Graves started for the Wings; the former big leaguer with 182 career saves is in camp on a tryout basis. He pitched in the Dominican Winter League this past offseason, after spending the 2007 season in independent ball..

Francisco Liriano pitched four hitless innings for the Twins Sunday...On Monday, Brian Bass starts for Minnesota with Casey Daigle and Dennys Reyes also scheduled to pitch....
