
Twins Complete Sweep of Cane Cutters

Texarkana, USA - Behind dominant pitching from Brayden Boyd, the Twins increase their win streak to five in a row. The Twins and Cane Cutters were neck and neck until the 7th inning when the bottom half of the line-up pushed the Twins to a comfortable lead.
The Twins took an early lead in the 1st with a sacrifice fly from Matthew McDonald to score Gunnar Halter. The Cane Cutters quickly responded in the 2nd by taking advantage of multiple defensive errors allowing them to score three runs. JoJo Craig answered back by slugging a solo homerun over the centerfield fence. With the bases loaded and one out, the Cane Cutters turned a double play to end the inning. Pitching and good defense held the Cane Cutters in the 3rd and 4th inning. In the bottom of the 4th, the Twins capitalize on Acadiana's errors, tying the game at three.
The Cane Cutters tact on one more run in the top of the 6th taking the lead. With a runner on second and third, Matthew McDonald made a non-assist double play by tagging the runner at first and then throwing the runner at second base out. During the Twins half of the inning, Ross Messina hit a single then stole second base. While stealing third, the catcher over threw the third basemen allowing Messina to walk in and tie the game at four. After the Cane Cutters pitcher walked Cam Hill, with aggressive base running, he stole second and third base. Hill later scored off of a wild pitch giving the Twins the lead. During the 7th inning the Twins pushed open their lead. Dylan Ditzenberger started off the inning with a double. Ditzenberger then scored on a single to right field from Matthew McDonald. With the bases loaded the designated hitter, JoJo Craig, hit a hard fly ball to left field scoring two, putting the Twins up by four. Twins pitcher, Brayden Boyd, pitched a complete game, holding the Acadianas to four runs. This game was dominated by the defense from both teams with pitchers from each team ending the game with little strikeouts.
Next up, the Twins will begin their road trip in Bryan, Texas where they will compete against their rival, the Brazos Valley Bombers. They will then continue their road trip to Dallas where they will face the Texas Marshals.
