Cane Cutters Drop Second Game of Series to Twins

TEXARKANA, Tx - The Acadiana Cane Cutters drop the series to the Texarkana Twins by a score of 8-4 at George Dobson Field.

The Cutters took the lead by scoring three in the second inning. The Twins answered by tying the game in the fourth before the Cutters ended the inning with a double play.

Cole Secrest (Lamar University) hit a double to the fence in the sixth that scored Nathan Gabryszwski (Lamar University) all the way from first base. The Twins then stole the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch and then scored three more runs in the seventh.

The Cane Cutters are currently placed fourth in the Texas Collegiate League standings, just ahead of the Texas Marshals. Rhett McCall (Lamar University) and Mason Corbett (Texas A&M) hold the two highest batting averages in the league at .545 and .417.

First game back at Fabacher Field will be on Thursday, June 14 for UL Theme Night! We will have a four-day home stand starting Thursday and going through Sunday! The games on the 14th and 15th will be against the Texarkana Twins and the 16th and 17th  we will be taking on the Victoria Generals in Youngsville. Make sure to come out to Fabacher Field for UL Night on the 14th for $1 draft beer all night long and come to our Star Wars theme night on the 16th. Gates open at 6 PM and first pitch is at 7 PM for all home games!
