Rochester Red Wings News Release
The Rochester Red Wings announced today that infielder/outfielder Jeff Bailey has agreed to terms on a minor league deal with the Minnesota Twins.
Bailey, 31, spent last season in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization playing for Triple-A Reno, batting .289 with 12 home runs and 78 RBI in 129 games. Bailey also finished the 2010 season with career-highs in doubles (33) and triples (7).
Bailey was named the International League's MVP in 2008 when he batted .301 with 25 home runs and 75 RBI in 109 games for the Pawtucket Red Sox. Bailey would become the first former IL MVP to play for the Red Wings since 1984 when infielder Tucker Ashford played for Rochester after winning the IL MVP in 1982 with the Columbus Clippers.
Bailey has a .228 batting average with six home runs and 16 RBI in 56 Major League games (all with the Boston Red Sox).
