Twin City Stops Knoxville, 3-2

The Cyclones were able to end 2008 on a good note as the Knoxville Ice Bears came to town. Fueled by last night's win in Columbus, Twin City came out with high-energy and was able to get the 3-2 win. Scoring for the Cyclones: Ben Manny (2 goals) and Marc Lefebvre.

Cyclones Continue Streak with Win in Huntsville, 6-5

For the first game of the new year, Twin City traveled to Huntsville to challenge the Havoc. With hopes of continuing their latest winning streak, the Cyclones came out strong and fought off the Havoc to win 6-5.

Michael Richard lit the lamp first at 5:45 with a powerplay goal (Smith, Manny). However, BJ Radovich got on the board for the Havoc soon after. Taylor Hustead gave the Cyclones the lead at 11:28 (Jensen, Heintz). Heading into the second, Twin City had a one-goal advantage.

Jeff Winchester tied the game at two at 7:02 for the Havoc and Karlis Zirnis added another at 15:18 to give Huntsville their first lead of the game. Before the period was finished, Marc Lefebvre added a goal for the Cyclones at 18:19 to tie the game at three going into the final period.

Huntsville struck first in the third with a goal at 1:31 from Ray Ortiz. However, Ben Manny tied the score at four with an unassisted goal, only a few seconds later at 1:58. Paul Falco would give the Cyclones the lead once again at 6:06 (Richard). Brady Heintz increased Twin City's lead to two with an unassisted goal at 13:34 to put the score at 6-4. The Havoc were able to add one more goal as they added an extra attacker from pulling their goalie. However, the Cyclones held on for the 6-5 victory.

Twin City increases their winning streak to three games in a row.

Cyclones Have Successful Campaign Against Havoc

Looking to gain more ground in the SPHL standings, the Cyclones took the momentum from their past three wins and used it to gain another victory against the Huntsville Havoc on Saturday night. With the 5-3 win, the Cyclones moved securely into fourth place in the SPHL.

Scoring for the Cyclones Saturday night: Michael Richard, Matt Puntureri (2 goals), Donald Melnyk, and Steve Obelnicki.


The Cyclones will return to home ice this Thursday, January 8, as they play host to the Columbus Cottonmouths. It's Thirsty Thursday so come out and take advantage of the $2 drafts and $2 sodas!
