(Manchester, NH)---Concepcion Rodriguez went two-for-four with two RBI and B.J.LaMura allowed one run in five innings, but Bowie rallied for a 9-5 win over the Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon at Merchantsauto.com Stadium to take the rubber game of the series.
Bowie left fielder Brandon Waring went 3-for-5 with 2 home runs and five RBI to lead the Baysox (63-51).
The Fisher Cats (67-48) ripped five hits in a three-run first inning to take the early lead. Darin Mastroianni led off with a single, stole second and scored in a single by Adeiny Hechavarria for a 1-0 lead. Eric Thames doubled Hechavarria home. After Shawn Bowman singled, Adam Loewen grounded out, scoring Thames to make it 3-0.
Bowie closed the gap to 3-1 in the top of the second inning on Brandon Waring's 18th home run which landed on the top of the Samuel Adams Bar & Grill in left field.
The starting pitchers left the game after five innings. LaMura worked the first five innings of the game for New Hampshire, allowing one earned run on four hits. He walked one and struck out six.
Bowie starter Eddie Gamboa (4-4) earned the win when the Baysox scored five times, sending 11 men to the plate in the top of the sixth inning against losing pitcher Vince Bongiovanni (6-4).
Gamboa allowed three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
New Hampshire closed to within 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Thames walked, Bowman (2-for-4) singled to set up Concepcion's RBI single.
The Baysox moved in front in the top of the sixth inning when they sent 11 men to the plate scoring five runs.
The Fisher Cats open a three-game series in Richmond on Tuesday night. New Hampshire is scheduled to start RHP Shawn Hill (1-0, 0.00) against Flying Squirrels' RHP Daryl Maday (9-5, 2.30). Game time is scheduled for 7:05pm and live coverage can be heard on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Dave Collins beginning at 6:45pm.
New Hampshire returns home to Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Tuesday, August 17, to play the Binghamton Mets.
