
Turkish Players to Tryout for Aviators Men

Edmonton, May 21, 2004 â Two Turkish players who were supposed to be at Edmonton Aviators Men's training camp have cleared immigration and are on their way to Edmonton to vie for spots on the team.
Ibrahim Mollaibrahimagaoglu is a 150 pound, 5'8", 34 year old sweeper. He has played for Turkish clubs Rizespor, Izmirspor, and Kirikkalespor in the Turkish first and second divisions.
"Ibrahim has the ability to provide a lot of leadership to this club. He is a very experienced, smart, and skilled defender," said Joe Petrone, Director of Soccer Operations for the Edmonton Aviators. "We believe he can be an excellent sweeper in this league."
Mollaibrahimagaoglu is expected to arrive in Edmonton on Sunday and will be at the Aviators men's practice on Monday at Archbishop O'Leary Catholic High School (3pm MST).
Ercenk Hasan Aksimsek is a left-footed, 174 pound, 6'0", 29 year old midfielder. He has played for Turkish clubs Rizespor and Hopaspor in the Turkish first and second divisions.
"Ercenk is in excellent physical condition. He is fast with and without the ball, and he's very good in one on one situations," said Petrone. "He's an exciting player that can bring fans to their feet."
Aksimsek is expected to arrive in Edmonton early next week and will be available for the Aviators Men's practices by mid-week.
