Tyler Tumminia, senior vice president of the Goldklang Group, will be addressing students at the University of Florida on November 2nd and 3rd. Tumminia will give an in-depth look at the challenges of operating four minor league teams while providing behind the scenes insight into the marketing goals, sponsorship, operations and communication efforts for the Goldklang Group. The creator behind such award winning initiatives as the Scouts Hall of Fame, Be Your Own Fan, and the groundbreaking byoftv.com, Tumminia has become a sought- after guest at universities and conferences nationwide.

"We are excited to have someone with Tyler's background and expertise come and speak to our students," said Dr. Trevor Bopp, Sport Management Program Coordinator, University of Florida. "Her ingenuity and ability to speak to a number of different aspects of the sport industry offer our students a great learning experience."

The University of Florida is a public land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant research university, one of the most comprehensive in the United States. The university encompasses virtually all-academic and professional disciplines. It is the largest and oldest of Florida's eleven universities, a member of the Association of American Universities and has high national rankings by academic assessment institutions. Its faculty and staff are dedicated to the common pursuit of the university's threefold mission: teaching, research and service.

A degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida enables students to ethically apply the fundamental concepts of management, marketing, finance, and law to sport organizations. Coursework prepares students for a wide range of opportunities in the sport industry, including positions with professional, collegiate, and amateur sport organizations.

"I've been a longtime admirer of the University of Florida, the high standard of excellence both in the classroom and between the lines reflects the same standards in which we operate our franchises," said Tyler Tumminia, senior vice president, the Goldklang Group. "I look forward to speaking with tomorrow's industry leaders."

In addition to speaking at the University of Florida, during the 2011-2012 academic school year Tumminia will be speaking at University of New Haven, St. Thomas University, SUNY Fredonia, George Washington University, University of Georgia, and Indiana University. In addition, Tyler has accepted an invitation to speak at the Sports Industry Networking and Career Conference in February. Tumminia has previously addressed students at NYU and Columbia University on various topics relating to the business of sports, and was awarded the 2011 Sports Executive of the Year by the students in NYU's sports management program.
