Tulsa Wins Thriller Over Sioux Falls, 107-104

TULSA, Okla., March 8, 2008 - Nothing came easy for Tulsa Saturday night, but determination and perseverance paid off in the end as the 66ers eased past Sioux Falls to a 107-104 victory at Expo Square Pavilion.
Sioux Falls' Kasib Powell hit a jumper followed by a lay-up with one minute and three seconds left to give the Skyforce a 103-98 lead. But Tulsa's Jeremy Kelly nailed a jump shot to cut the margin to 100-103 with 50 seconds left. That's when things became exciting.
A bad pass by Sioux Falls guard David Bailey led to a missed 3-pointer for Adam Harrington. Dupree grabbed a rebound for Tulsa with 20.9 seconds left. After a foul from Tulsa's Chris Ellis, Skyforce head coach Nate Tibbetts called a timeout with 20 seconds remaining; Alexander hit the first of two free throws, bringing the Skyforce lead to 104-102.
After a Tulsa timeout, the 66ers got a quick 3-point jumper from Milwaukee assignee David Noel to make it a one-point game. With 5.2 seconds remaining, Jeremy Kelly scored a lay-up, ending the game 107-104.
The 66ers were led in scoring by guard Adam Harrington with 26 points. Also scoring in double-figures were Ronald Dupree with 24 points and 10 rebounds, David Noel adding 18 points and 7 rebounds, and Keith Closs and Jason Fontenet both for 12 points.
Sioux Falls was paced by David Bailey's game-high 41 points. Kasib Powell poured in 25 points, 7 rebounds, and five assists, while Elton Nesbitt chipped in 11 points.
The 66ers led in scoring with 50 percent, compared to Sioux Falls' 44 percent from the pine. Tulsa also shot better from behind the arch with 22-of-28 to Sioux Falls' 13-of-21. The Skyforce slightly outrebounded the 66ers, 48-42.
The 66ers will take on the Colorado 14ers Thursday, March 13th at Expo Square Pavilion with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
