Tulsa 66ers News Release

TULSA, Okla., Jan. 5, 2007 - The Tulsa 66ers opened the New Year at home with a disappointing 123-112 loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday evening at Expo Square Pavilion.

"We had twenty-five assists tonight," said 66ers head coach Joey Meyer. "Will [Conroy] had 14 on his own. When we share and fight like that, we can be a dangerous team. Our guys played hard and really focused defensively and it showed tonight."

Even with their top player, Andre Brown, receiving the D-League's second Gatorade Call-Up of the season to the Seattle Sonics, six of the Sioux Falls' eight eligible players scored in double figures, led by guard Frank Williams who finished with 30 points and seven assists. Also scoring in the double-digits, and the team's only double-double for the Skyforce, was Jared Reiner with 28. Corey Williams (20), Antywane Robinson with (19), Jeff Varem (12) and Vincent Grier (10) also scored in double figures.

The 66ers were led in scoring by Will Conroy who added 26 points to his 14 assists. Also scoring a double-double was Mike Hall with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Alan Anderson, making his first home-court debut in Tulsa since being acquired, packed in a solid 22 points and eight rebounds. Tulsa forward Denham Brown also poured in 25 points, but it wasn't enough to stop the Skyforce.

Tulsa finished the game shooting just 51 percent from the field to Sioux Falls' 59 percent. Tulsa outrebounded the Skyforce 47-39. Tulsa was just 2-of-13 from the 3-point line compared to Sioux Falls' 9-of-19 from beyond the arch.

The win moves Sioux Falls' record to 10-7 and drops the 66ers to 8-9.

The 66ers will play Sioux Falls again tomorrow night, but this time in the Skyforce's home town. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.
