Tulsa Comes Back on Odessa for 3-2 OT Win

TULSA, OK - Derek Eastman's shorthanded goal 46 seconds into overtime capped off a 3-2, comeback win for the Tulsa Oilers over the Odessa Jackalopes on Sunday evening at the BOK Center. Eastman's winner came on a slap shot from the left circle in front of a crowd of 4,301.

Todd Robinson provided all the offense for the Jackalopes (12-13-1), scoring both goals to give him 296 in his pro career and 43 points total points on the year - second in the CHL behind his teammate Sebastien Thinel (44).

The Jackalopes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the game as Robinson scored the only goal of the first period from the slot with 5:34 remaining. Dominic Leveille picked up the assist with a centering pass from behind the net.

Robinson then struck again midway through period two with helpers from Alex Dunn and Darryl Bootland after sneaking a shot from the left side of the net inside the near post. From there, the Oilers (14-13-1) scored three unanswered goals to pick up the win.

Jack Combs scored a power play goal with just over six minutes to go in the second period to cap off a run of five straight power play opportunities for the Oilers. Sean Erickson then tied the game late in the third on a wrist shot between the circles with less than five minutes remaining.

Ian Keserich stopped 39 shots the pick up the win for Tulsa, while Odessa's Michel Robinson took the loss with a 22-save performance.

The Jackalopes return home to host the Texas Brahmas on Sunday at 4:05 PM at the Ector County Coliseum. The action can be heard on Classic Rock 102.1 FM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in the middle of its 14th season.
