
Tulsa Acquires Blackshear

GREENVILLE, S.C., January 6 - The Tulsa 66ers have acquired guard Ronald Blackshear from the NBA Development League available player pool. Blackshear fills the roster spot vacated when center Tony Kitchings left the team.
At 6-5, 205, Blackshear played 20 games in the D-League last season with the Huntsville Flight, averaging 14.5 minutes, 7.8 points and 0.8 rebounds. He most recently played for EKA AEL Lemesos in Cyprus.
Blackshear played collegiately at Marshall, where he averaged 20.3 points and 3.6 rebounds as a senior. He began his college career at Temple, where he averaged 3.4 points in just 10 games as a freshman in 1999-2000.
He was an early entry into the 2003 NBA Draft before going to vet cap with the New York Knicks as an undrafted free agent. Blackshear was drafted by the Fayetteville Patriots (3rd round, 18th overall) in the 2003 D-League Draft before being released in training camp.
He is expected to be in uniform when the 66ers are host to Arkansas today at 7 p.m. CT. He will wear jersey No. 11.
