Tulsa 66ers News Release

Tulsa, Okla., Dec. 2, 2007 -The Tulsa 66ers ended a two-game homestand with a disappointing 103-107 loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Sunday evening at Expo Square Pavilion. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers started out sizzling but had to hold off a determined Tulsa 66er rally in the final moments to escape with the 107-103 victory.

The Vipers started out on a venomous 21-3 run holding the 66ers without a field goal after the first basket of the game that gave Tulsa a 2-0 lead. The Vipers maintained their stance with a 60-40 lead at halftime.

The 66ers were led in scoring by Adam Harrington and Mike Hall with 18 points. Jeremy Kelly added 17 points and 4 rebounds. In spite of the 66ers great attempt to battle back, the Vipers closed out the night with the win.

"This was a great learning experience," 66ers Forward Mike Hall said. "We started off slow, but the guys pulled it together like a family. This was a good learning lesson to see how the team plays under pressure.

Tulsa finished the game shooting just 44 percent from the field to Rio Grande's 54 percent. Tulsa was 7-of-13 from the 3-point line compared to the Vipers 10-of-21 from beyond the arch.

"We got behind too early and had to fight back," 66ers Assistant Head Coach Aaron Swinson said. "The guys that got into the game tried, but we had too far to catch up. The other team had great shooters and our team fought hard to stay in the game."

The win gives the Vipers a D-League leading fifth of the season.

The 66ers will play their next home game on December 15th. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Expo Square Pavilion.
